Paromomycin is in de handel verkrijgbaar in de vorm van capsules (Humatin). Het is sinds 1961 in veel landen goedgekeurd.
Indicaties
- Precoma (vertroebeling van het bewustzijn voorafgaand aan coma) en coma hepaticum (hepatisch coma).
- Profylaxe van hepatogene encefalopathieën.
- Vermindering van de darmflora vóór de operatie
- Taeniasis (lintworm)
- Intestinale amoebiasis
